Hot Hot Hot

It has been pretty hot these days. To still be cozy and get away from the heat I have fantastic summer slippers!

100 Days!

Zooey turned 100 days old yesterday. As in traditional Korean cultures we had a party. Sort of Zooey's coming out party. It was nice to see lots of people and have people meet her.

Birthday!!!

It was my birthday this past week. And what a birthday it was. I woke up to flowers, chocolates and presents. Went to work where I had a good day. Lunch time trail run with the ladies and then ate lunch at the ski hill. After work we went to Prometheus and then pizza for dinner. Really lovely day!!!

Zooey Time

Next Friday she will be 100 days old. Party time!!!

Putting Up Part II

The neighbors across the street have a pie cherry tree that is going crazy. I've decided to try and make cherry ginger butter. The sugar base in it is honey. I'm going to put this over vanilla bean ice cream tonight!

Pumpkin Patch

Mike has created me a new pumpkin patch. The chickens took over my old one. The first seeds are coming up!

Summer Macros

Today we had to put Moab down. She was an amazing cat and we will miss her!

New Tree!

We wanted to get a largest tree to block our view from the hot tub and the neighbors house. The new tree arrived today. Here are before and after photos!

Weekends ...

This past weekend was Mike's first motorcycle race weekend, since Zooey arrived. It was Zooey's first RV trip was well.

In other news I've gone back to work. Life is a lot more busy now!

Baby Love

Things in our house are different - but not too much. We still spend our evenings snuggling and hanging out (but now there is an extra person).

I find that we need a bit more time to get out the door and we have to be a bit more organized when leaving ... But otherwise all is the same.

Now Methow would like to disagree with me! We are taking the cats and Zooey to the race track this weekend. Should be fun!!

Putting Up

Remember all the carrots that I harvested a while back. I wanted some way to save them - but wasn't sure what. I decided to blanch them and freeze them. After blanching they still taste delicious (FYI).

Slow Updates

I told myself after having a kid I would keep the blog up and not only blog about her. I seem to be sucking at that. Do how about a kid update?
She is 6 lbs 11 oz tonight and we had our first hike in a national park.

I can't wait to introduce her to all the wonders of the world!

Summer Is Coming!

The temperature is rising and that means summer is coming. Mike has decided to redesign my garden. More photos once he finishes. This redesign means I dug up all winter carrots. Look at how many made it through the cold months!

Tired.

Yep. We are pretty tired around here. The lack of sleep means that we try and catch a little shut eye whenever we can!

RIP Kevin

We noticed today that one of the Kevin's was acting tired and just not her self. The other chickens were avoiding her. We gave her a warm bath to see if she had an egg stuck. Turns out it must have been something else - because shortly after the bath she died. We will miss her!

Cat Scratch Fever

While at home for a tiny bit over the weekend we put leopard print cat claw covers on Moab (she has been scratching the sofa). Terrible photo - but maybe you can see them!

A Little Update

Sorry for the lack of updates. Things have been busy. Zooey finally moved out of the admitting wing of the NICU - and made it to the wing they go to before going home. Then she slipped back. She was getting way too tired to feed. They had to put a feeding tube in. They also found she wasn't digesting her food - so they gave her a little O2. These things have helped - but she only eats about half what she should and the rest is put down the tube.

She was also steadily putting on weight and then lost 10 oz last night. I think there is just no way to know when she will be strong enough to go home.

Princess Zooey

I know. Everyone calls their little girl a princess. But this one sure is. She is a spit fire to the nurses in the NICU. She lifts her head and kicks them a lot. She loves to snuggle Mike and I. And she is eating more and more everyday.

I'm so excited for the day she gets to come home!!!

Introducing!

Zooey Astrid Bristol Browne. Born at 4:30 on March 15 (Ides of March). She was taken via c-section and weighs 3 pounds 6 ounces.

I can't wait to hold her!!!

Spring

Spring really is coming. My trees are budding out and bulbs are popping up. These lovely came from a dear friend.

Now if I could only stop sneezing!!

Where I Spent The Weekend

Well on Thursday, at our bi-weekly doctors appointment, they freaked out and wanted to helicopter me and the baby to Albuquerque. They said that she was small and not growing. Because of a winter storm we got to drive down instead of going separate.

The first night was scary and terrible. The next morning they did millions of tests. They spent hours measuring every little thing about her. The doctors were really confused because she looks fine.

Los Alamos hospital said she was under the 3% for weight and that blood flow was diminishing. Abq found she is closer to the 30% in weight and getting more than enough blood.

They kept us for 5 days and measured her every day. We had doctors and techs and more doctors look at her. After all of that they send us both hone with a clean bill of health and the comment that since we are both healthy bed rest is not needed either.

They want me to slowly integrate back into going to work and regular life - but they see no reason not to.

What a weekend!
