Garden Garlic.

I've never grown garlic before. In January I had a few cloves that were going to go bad (sprouting little green heads). So, I tossed them in the garden. Did nothing else. And now I have ... well garlic cloves. Very strange. I read that when the top starts to die you should pull them. These tops were getting a little brown so I thought I'd check them out. Garlic bread anyone? They are currently drying and should be ready for eating in a few weeks!

Men of Sci-Fi

While watching sci-fi I noticed this. What is up with the taste of people that they all have to look so similar?

Let Me In.

Filmed in our town last winter. Inside the high school - buildings in town - outside in places. Strange to see a creepy vampire movie in Los Alamos. Although I once read that any town that couldn't keep a pizza hut open must have vampires. So do we?

Back Home.

Dill for drying.

Too many apples ... so I'm drying them!

A lot of photos on this one. We got home from our road trip and the garden was over grown with weeds. It took us most of the day to sort out the plants.

The apples are producing, dill is going crazy, and the pumpkins are going insane (I'm worried Mike might lawn mower them).

Road Trip Last Day.

Well ... we are back in New Mexico and the last day was hard. It dumped rain the whole trip - except for today. We crossed over into New Mexico and decided to get gas. As we were pulling off the hitch for the trailer broke. Yep. Just broke. We had to scooter around and get parts. It was 98 degrees out. Hot hot day for it and of course a terrible way to end the trip - but over all it was fun, interesting and a wonderful way to see the country.

Road Trip Day 8

In all honesty I'm not sure what day of the road trip this really is. Yesterday I spent the day in down town Baltimore. I went to the aquarium and shopping. A lovely downtown area. Mike told me that as a kid the aquarium was one of the things that he remembered most. It was very cool and I can see why he enjoyed it! We are back on the road today. Heading out of Maryland and heading west!

Road Trip Day 7

Well today has been fantastic. Mike went into his conference in down town Baltimore and I hung out in the water. Relaxing with the cats. Taking photos. Doing a bit of work. Spinning/knitting and in general enjoying the salt filled air. This has been a perfect day!

Road Trip Day 6

Today we pushed through and made it to Baltimore. Our rv spot is on the bay water. Stunning view! Photos tomorrow.

During the drive today it dumped rain and Methow wanted to help with the driving.

Road Trip Sunday

Mike's clutch stopped working at the track. So on Sunday we packed up and hit the road. We made it to Bristol Tennessee, near the boarder of Virginia. We found a strange KOA and will rest before the final push into Baltimore tomorrow. See those crab cakes soon!

Road Trip Day 4.

Day four on the road. It was nice to have a day of not moving. The cats hung out. Napped. I got to sleep in. Relaxing day. Currently it is dumping rain in Alabama. Mike is off the track and doing some work on the bike. Ray crashed (but wasn't hurt) and Mike had a great time without any issues. I hope tomorrow goes as well. It was 90 degrees with 90% humidity today. Hot and humid and now stormy. MOISTURE!

Road Trip Day 3.

Well we made it into Alabama. The weather was a little less painful today - still raining though. I'm sure the cats and Mike and I will be happy to have a day or two of rest. No traveling. No rolling. The race track is stunning. Even more pretty than the last time we were here. More art, more flowers. The gardens look amazing. I can't wait to take a hike around and snap some photos!

This photo is in Mississippi driving over the Mississippi river. The bridge is one of the scariest parts of this whole trip. Lot of big trucks and very very tight spacing.

Road Trip Day 2

We made it to the far side of Oklahoma today. Water, water, water. Oh goodness I'm tired of the rain (which is strange for me to say). I'm trying to get photos to upload right now. The internet seems to be a bit slow here. If I can't get photos up - I'll fix the post later on with some :)

Road Trip Day 1

Well our road trip out East has started. We made it as far as Amarillo Texas today. There was wind, hail and a downpour of rain that was impressive. Tomorrow we hope to get to the far side of Oklahoma. We'll see though. If this type of weather continues I'm just not sure.

Note: Through the night it dumped and there was rain coming in the vent for the fridge. We had towels out. What a PITA.

Isotopes Game.

A great friend of ours has boxes seats at the Isotopes baseball park. So, we went down last Thursday for a fantastic night of bbq, drinks, and baseball. Nothing like a game in the summer time! For the full set of photos and video go to Flickr.

Happy 4th of July.

Let me tell you a little secret. I saw the opening scene of Jaws when I was a child and it freaked me out on the water and sharks. I had no idea that the movie took place on the fourth of July - until today. One of the movie channels was having a Jaws-a-thon and I watched the first bit of it again (well just far enough to figure out it was the fourth of July). I would have never known had I not happened to catch it.

I also love the movie Independence Day - which takes place around the fourth of July. So, what do I have for you today? Something about the red, white and blue? Nope! More macro photos. I'm just so happy to have my camera back.
