2nd Egg.

In the middle of this snow storm there was another egg! Yep. The same chicken gave birth to another egg which is twice the size of the first egg.


Here is Kevin in her roost as she gets ready to lay the egg. I shouldn't have bothered her - but she was too cute!


Mike ate her egg for breakfast. There were 2 yolks in it, which I guess happens when they are first laying.

Cold Chickens?

With all the weather we've had the chickens have been a bit on the cool side. But, they seem to be getting through it okay. Yesterday they roamed the back yard and even walked through snow to get to some of their favorite patches of weeds. I think they will make it through this cold spell just fine!

Starting today we are off for holiday break. Happy holidays everyone!

Early Morning Call.

We got a call at 10 minutes to 5am this morning that Kevin was here. Yep. Our surprise backyard project. They are so cute and cuddly we just want to play with them and watch them - not go to work.
