Poorly Written.

I normally pick up a book and cruise through it. Even if it is poorly written I normally chug through it and make the best of it. A few nights ago an order from Amazon showed up. I like to pick items off my amazon wishlist that are the oldest books and get them. This book has been on my list since 2002, so I thought I should get it. I made it ~40 pages and had to put it down. The story is written in the style of a 16 year old girl(in the squirrely train of thought, hyper teenage girl way) that I just couldn't keep reading it. Normally I get interested and even if it is poorly written I still want to know what happens. In this case, not at all. I'm actually thinking about selling the book so that I don't even have to look at it.

Has this ever happened to you? What do you do about books that seem poorly written as you are reading them? Push though or toss them?

I'd toss it - there's just too little time in my life for reading books that are actually good. =) Don't both wasting time on books that don't interest ya!

I can't throw books away . . . I have 5 books on my shelves that for some reason I can't finish. I just mark my place and put it on the shelf. I don't know if I will ever finish some, but others I may. I'm thinking I might have some weird "condition" to not be able to throw books away or get rid of them.
