Today it is snowing out. Snowing on May first, what in the world is up with that? I found this massive moth on the front step of our house this weekend. I'm glad one of the cats didn't eat it (because the vomit from this large moth would have been too much for me to handle).
Spring is here. I've been talking about it - but it is really here. I spent the weekend working in the garden and yard and found myself amazed at how many plants were popping up all over the yard. Here are a couple of images for you. When I think about timing I'm amazed that spring seems to be here so soon and yet surprised at myself for missing the crocus.
How was your weekend? Is spring hitting you in your part of the world??
As the backyard dies off for winter, there are macro photos still to be had. I love praying mantas. They are such a cool looking bug and there is nothing like fall flowers.
Let me tell you a little secret. I saw the opening scene of Jaws when I was a child and it freaked me out on the water and sharks. I had no idea that the movie took place on the fourth of July - until today. One of the movie channels was having a Jaws-a-thon and I watched the first bit of it again (well just far enough to figure out it was the fourth of July). I would have never known had I not happened to catch it.
I also love the movie Independence Day - which takes place around the fourth of July. So, what do I have for you today? Something about the red, white and blue? Nope! More macro photos. I'm just so happy to have my camera back.
Well my good camera has been returned. It is like getting back a good friend that I've been missing for a long time. For your hump-day enjoyment ... some macro shots. And yes ... that is inset sex you see. If you care to see all of my latest macro shots you can go to my Flickr account.
As most of you know I love taking photos in the yard. Today I caught a crazy spider on a great rose. The back yard is so lovely! I wish that we were in the house to enjoy it every day ... but it means when I swing by the house I love every moment of my back yard.
I adore taking macro photos of plants. I love spring and summer for this exact reason. All of the small things around the house make me feel better about not being in the house. Happy Friday to everyone. I hope you are enjoying your spring months as much as I am!
When not taking macro photos I've really started to enjoy playing Little Big Planet. I've never played a game that is just so much fun! Anyone else online?
In summer time I rather enjoy taking photos of the outside plants and bugs. I'm sure I'll be posting more as I upload and go through them. Here are some from this past weekend!
