Spring In New Mexico.

Winds have picked up here in New Mexico. Because they are blowing so hard a bird nest flew out of a tree. Poor birds ... they spent so much time and their hard work just blew down.

The lilac bushes are in bloom. Ah the smell is amazing!

Exile Day 52.

Yep - day 52. Close to the two month mark. Some house painting is taking place and dry wall is going up. The red is our dinning room. The green is the kitchen and the brown/gray is our living room. I'll take more photos once the floor gets in and it looks more like a house. Just a short update from Day 52 ......

While we are out of the house we are working in the back yard and trying to keep our lives as normal as possible. Our neighbors cat loves to come into our yard and pee (which of course upsets us but doesn't seem to bother her much). We had a conversation with her a while ago and she said she was going to keep her cat inside - I guess that isn't the case any more. This is the second pee mark on our enclosed porch that we have found. Ah ... living near other people. So lovely!

Bend Loves The Ghetto.

Bend loves living in the ghetto. I'm not sure why. Maybe it is the stairs - but he sure does love it. Watching him run around is like watching the wind. He is fast and super happy these days.

Exile Day 47.

Day 47. What to say. We are still not living in our house. We still don't know what really survived and what didn't. They have started painting rooms that are ready to go.




They have filled the insulation in where it has to go and had it inspected by the county. Which is all very nice and good. But, how long is all of this going to take? The flooring hasn't even been ordered yet! Sign. Big sign. I want to be back in our house!

Running In New Mexico

I'm not sure if you can see it or not - but my arms are covered in red/blue welts and bruises from running today. You might be wondering how my arms got hurt running ... the answer would be a hail/rain/thunder storm. We tried to run back as quickly as possible (once the hail started) ... but that didn't stop my arms from getting pummeled.

Backyard Beauty.

We spent a large portion of this past weekend working in the back yard. With the house being worked on it gives us a lot of time to look at the yard. A lot of the garden is in and the fruit trees are in bloom. The back yard smells incredible right now! I'm betting I'll have pounds of peaches again this year!

RV Race Weekend.

We spent the weekend in Deming at the track. Mike ended up doing 3 races and we had a great time. Thursday night dinner with Courtney in Socorro. Friday drive to the track and setup. Dinner in the RV with SGU on the tv. Saturday was dinner out with Mike's parents and then Sunday was the race. Wonderful to be back in the RV.

Flowers - Make Me Smile!

I got a new orchid plant (the previous one wasn't doing so well after the fire). It is currently blooming and just makes me smile. I adore the bloom and looking at the large white flowers!

Desert Liven.

We are in Deming this weekend for a motorcycle race. It is in the 80's and beautiful! These are wild flowers I picked while out for a walk. The desert suprises me sometimes!

Here is the floor in the den. It took us forever to lay the tile - and a day for them to remove it. So sad!

This is Mike figuring out where to put our big TV and in-wall speakers.




As you can see there is a heck of a lot of gutting going on. The new windows are ordered - 6 weeks we get to wait for them to come in. Meanwhile we are meeting with the flooring guy on Tuesday.

Colors.

As the construction guys are talking about paint - I'm thinking about colors. Like any of these?

We got an update from the fiber folks that included information about all of the "fiber" items that were taken out of the house. There is nothing like seeing all of your possession on a list which a dolor amount to clean that really puts your life into focus. A list of interesting things in our life.
