I got flowers yesterday. Tulips in January just make me smile. They are opening slowly and really brighten my day!

101 Tasks

Well I've finished 10 tasks on my 101 tasks list. That means another $25 to charity. I went with the WWF and picked the meerkat as the animal to sponsor. It is fun digging around for people to give money to!

CDs

Here is what Bend thinks about packing boxes. He sure does love them!



Mike read about a site where you can ship your old CD and they give you ipods or cash and they also rip your whole library. I've packaged up our CDs. All 465 of them. I can't wait to get these back in MP3 form!

Vegetable Box Dinner.

Mike is out of town and the vegetable box showed up tonight. I'm almost done with last weeks box and trying to make sure I can get through this one as well. I had cilantro and tomatoes left over from last week. Rice and beans from dinner on Saturday night. The tortilla was terribly sad and dry ... but with some sauteed veggies from the box, some salsa, cheese and sour cream .... delicious dinner!

* small squash sliced
* red onion sliced
* tomatoes diced

Saute these in a pan with salt and pepper. Put on a tortilla with any other fixing you like.

New Family Member.

This past weekend I went with Courtney to Los Lunas to pick up her new puppy, Corbin Dallas. He looks like a bat to me. Fully grown he weights 4.0 pounds and is a snuggle machine. I'm hoping over time he gets more outgoing.


On another note I've been back on the yoga routine and even got a great 1.5 hour practice in on Friday (my back has never felt so sore). Fantastic!

Day Zero Project.

Awhile back while reading Anne's blog she posted about the Day Zero Project. Basically it is doing 101 things in 1001 days. I came up with the list before January first and figured I'll try to work through them all in the next 1001 days. There is a link on the side of the blog with my list. The second item on my list is to send $5 to charity for every item I finish. I'm 5% done ... so my first check of $25 was mailed out. Feels good to get things done and give back.

Snowfalling ...

We are in the middle of our third snow storm. Mike and I went out for a bit of nice snowshoeing. The snow was waist deep at points and blustery with the wind. They are saying 24-36 inches might fall tonight. Fingers crossed!

Birds.

As the snow melts the birds are loving all the water. They are up on the neighbors roof just bathing in it!

Woke up this morning to a good 3-4 inches of snow. More on the way. I'm hoping for a work close down.

RV Remodel - Update

Mike has worked it hard this past weekend. I've still been under the weather - but he has been pushing it through. The pulls are up - most of the wood flooring is down - and the walls are painted. I think he'll be working on tile this week.

RV Remodel - Painting.

It was pretty hard to get photos of the painted walls in the RV. We used a textured paint with granite and sparkles. We are waiting for it to dry to get the full color. We are 1/2 - 1 gallon short so we'll have to get more before I'd call it painted!

Sweets All Around

Ray gave me a suggestion which was to leave my carrots in the ground over winter and just mound the dirt up around them. I did that at the end of summer and just pulled these from the ground. He said that tops might get hard - but mine were perfect. Garden sweet!

Over the weekend Ian came over to decorate his birthday cake (dinosaurs fighting army men). It was a fun cake to make and has more sprinkles than any previous cake. Not garden sweet - but still super sweet.

RV Remodel - Update

The remodeling is coming along. We have finished primering the inside and all of the flooring is out. Mike's mom finished reupholstering the valences this past weekend and will be working on pillows over the next couple of weeks. I can't believe how fantastic the shades look without the creepy skanky old fabric.

I pulled down the Christmas tree and decorations on Friday. I was told that I killed Christmas. This is what Christmas' death looks like!

Way Word Yoga

I haven't gotten in a practice in 4 days. FOUR DAYS. I'm feeling the need and not the time. I've got to get back onto the wagon.

New Year.

You might be wondering what is happening this new year. Well it has already been busy. The RV remodel is moving along (slower than I would probably like) .. but moving along. We are currently painting the inside and waiting for things to dry.

I've just started my fourth week of yoga everyday. Yesterday was a lackluster practice ... but today was forward bends and twists. I'm trying to always stay positive about the practice (even if it isn't the longest or greatest of my life).

In my better-vs-well living I'm progressing in watching what is important. While at the hardware store I really wanted 4 new pots to replant some African violets I have. I picked all 4 up and then thought, "Do I need to re-pot them?" The answer is no. I really just wanted matching pots. This is an interesting experiment ... but I'm not sure how I'll feel after 4 weeks.

All in all ... 2010 has started off really well!

Day 1 ...

Well in my better vs well experimenet this is what I've found.
a) Hanging out with family and friends - eating and crafting and watching football isn't bad (and as a matter of fact sort of rocks).
b) There is always a sale somewhere.
c) Once you decide not to buy stuff the book that you have been looking for (for the past year) will go on sale from $22 to $3. Go figure.

I'm sure I wont update every day ... but today struck me as strange with the after holiday sales pinging me like mad!
