Happy Halloween.

This is our pumpkin this year. I know it is tough to tell that it is a pumpkin ... but here it is (in it's full bathroom glory ... the darkest place in the house).

Flying With Monsters.

Flying back from Livermore today was interesting. Early in the morning the Southwest gates were all decorated (my favorite being the Twilight, Thriller and Transformers). I'm really getting into flying them!

Santa Fe ice plants!



I just got back from California (where the Bay Bridge is falling apart and it was rather cold) - to find that New Mexico is in a deep freeze. Here is our new steam maker for the wood stove.

Sunday Run.

On Sunday we ran our 6 miler (still the weekend long run training for the half marathon). Here is sweet plot of heart rate vs distance. It was a down hill run (aka easy) ... but we had a good time. Dana, Diana, Julie and I kicked it at 7:30 in the morning (it was actually hovering at 30 degrees).

Craft Fair Day.

Today was the fall craft fair in Los Alamos. I got a pastel painting of the sunsets in New Mexico and a tile hanging thing that is just the perfect color for our dinning room. It was a wonderful fair and a perfect day for one.

Is that too many F's in the title? While walking into the office today I saw two guys "bumping knuckles". Who invented this? It is a hypoallergenic method for not spreading the flu? Is it a lack of real desire to touch another man? Ladies don't do this crap. Why is it the new accepted hello?

I also saw a few small kids (7-9ish) in the valley this past week that were using the British flip-the-bird hand gesture as a gang sign (inverse of the peace sign). I'm sure somewhere it is a gang sign - but their mom was gesturing back to them. It was like watching people say f**** you back and forth without knowing they were doing it.

I think that the world has gone crazy with a lack of kind human interaction. Since the world has gone crazy I'm posting a possessed photos of Methow!

All Dogs.

While in Santa Fe today we went to Chicago Dog. Behind the building is an amazing mural - all about dogs! Chicago dogs are the best!

Strange Blossoms.

I noticed that the jade plant has started getting blooms on it and so has the rosemary plant. I had no idea that these plants bloom in fall - but it is very nice to see them! I can't wait to see what the jade flowers look like!

You Know It Is Fall.

Mike is outside cutting fire wood. The days are warm without being hot and yet the evening are cool. There are pumpkins on the front deck (ready for carving) and the smell of dry leaves is overwhelming. Yes yes ... it is fall in New Mexico.

This is how Bend like to relax. It isn't really cold enough for a fire - but Bend loves it. He snuggles in his little bed and relaxes enough to snore.

This is from last weekends track time. While traveling I guess Mike took this photo of me and Bend. I was, well as you can see, passed out (and so was Bend).

This spider must have been really hungry. I've never seen one try so hard to get a fly!

Track Weekend.

Mike is currently racing on Deming. The temperature is 70 at 9 in the morning (which means I think it will be a hot one).

Yes - hiding in a cave built just for one. As I was changing out the sheets he decided to play hide and go seek - of course I was the one trying to find him.

Christmas Time.

My Christmas Cactus is blooming again. This is the fourth time this year - is it a happy or sad plant. I'm not sure.

A Bike Called Beer.

For Mike's birthday he got a new mountain bike - he took it on an epic ride and came home with dirty legs, scratches, blood and a shit eating grin. The mountain bike - named Beer - has a new home!

Fall.

When fall comes I get a certain type of joy that is indescribably. I love the smells, the colors, the switch in clothing. Pumpkins, soups, stews, fires ..... Fall is just a wonderful time of year!
